3. Hold programs one hour per week, and change focus cultures each quarter.
4. Create an activist culture that’s dedicated to helping these cultures 5. Teach about culture and its geography, history and games to promote global awareness
6. Utilize student groups in high school and college to allow the project to be scalable and sustainable
7. Have a culminating event to showcase and fundraise for the cause they’ve learned about. 8. Give students the tools to expand their level of engagement.
9. Publish and disseminate lesson plans and curriculum for others to join the movement.
Possible slogans or catchphrases:
* Kids Are Playing Around the World ... Just Like You.
Goals of this Project:
1. Thorough research of cultures with social, economic, political, or financial issues that are in dire need of awareness and support. Research will include cultural facts, such as geography and history, cultural sports, and cause of cultural strife. This research will enable us to produce an educationally enriched program that also involves kids in sports and gaming that connects them to the cultures.
2. Creating a complete lesson plan that includes all previous research of 4 cultures with their issues and sports. Must have directions for educational ease of topics and sport rules/regulations. Maintains an awareness of issues while allowing the students to relate to other countries through sports and games. Also allows further fundraising or support options for social cause. The lesson plan should allow future groups to successfully recreate our program in additional schools.
3. Make our project’s marketing strategy.
4. Building partnerships that will provide more leverage in expanding our program. Partnerships include cultural educators, cultural organizations, sport organizations, after-school programs, school districts, and any other organization that can align their mission with our own.
5. Beginning program in 2 schools’ after-school programs. Teach programs how to get program started and to maintain further education through sports. Document progress and success as follows.
6. Train high school student or educational volunteers to expand the program into other schools with our help. Provide training and motivation sessions to ground our mission and goals.
7. Expanding program to include showcase events to fundraise for relevant social causes and program.
8. Consistently researching significant culture issues for most current causes. Always creating new educational plans for future.
9. Bringing current cultural awareness to middle school programs and possibly high school clubs.
10. Creating importance of cultural awareness in America’s youth. Lobbying for more education of cultural awareness through required curriculum in public schools.
11. Creating a web site that can explain our organization and how to join the movement.
